The Milkmaid
Level “Early readers” (ages 4-5): short sentences and clear letters to start reading alone. Our own version of the fable by La Fontaine and Samaniego: a milkmaid walks to the market dreaming of everything she will buy with the milk… and forgets to look at the road. A story about dreaming and not counting your chickens before they hatch.
