The Milkmaid · First words (ages 3-4)
Level “First words” (ages 3-4): one or two short sentences per page, to be read aloud to the child. Our own version of the fable by La Fontaine and Samaniego: a milkmaid walks to the market dreaming of everything she will buy with the milk… and forgets to look at the road. A story about dreaming and not counting your chickens before they hatch.
